AI & Content Policy
Last updated: April 16, 2026
We use AI in narrow, purposeful ways inside Parent Mindset, and we have a strict position on how our own content may or may not be used by AI systems elsewhere. Here's the full picture.
Where AI is used in Parent Mindset
The only user-facing AI feature in the Service is the Parent Guide, a conversational coach that helps parents think through sport-parenting questions. It is powered by large language models from Anthropic (currently the Claude Haiku family).
Everything else in the product (articles, situations, pathways, tools, daily insights, knowledge cards, conversation cards, assessments) is written, reviewed, and edited by humans.
How the Parent Guide handles your messages
- When you send a message to the Parent Guide, it is transmitted over TLS to Anthropic's API with a system prompt we maintain.
- Per Anthropic's commercial terms, your messages are not used to train Anthropic's models.
- We store your Parent Guide conversations in our database so you can review them and so we can debug issues. You can delete them by closing your account.
- Parent Guide is rate-limited: free-tier users get 5 messages per 24 hours; Premium users get unlimited messages.
What the Parent Guide is, and is not
The Parent Guide is assistive content generation, not professional advice. Its responses are produced by statistical language models that may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading.
The Parent Guide is not a therapist, counselor, pediatrician, coach, lawyer, financial advisor, or licensed professional of any kind. Do not rely on it for clinical, medical, legal, or financial decisions. If you or your child is in crisis, contact a licensed provider or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US/Canada).
Our position on AI training using our content
Parent Mindset's content is the product of significant human labour, research, and editorial effort. Our position is unambiguous:
We do not grant permission for any third party to use Parent Mindset content, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune, benchmark, evaluate, distill, or improve any machine learning or AI system.
This applies regardless of:
- Whether the target model is commercial, open source, academic, or personal;
- Whether access is via web scraping, API, RSS, the Wayback Machine, or third-party aggregators;
- Whether the content is transformed, paraphrased, summarized, or included verbatim.
We reserve all rights under Canadian, United States, and international copyright law. Unauthorized AI training on our content is an infringement of those rights.
Technical measures
We publish a robots.txt that explicitly disallows known AI training crawlers, including GPTBot, Google-Extended, anthropic-ai, ClaudeBot, CCBot, and similar. This is a signal of our position and our reserved rights; it does not create new rights but clarifies existing ones.
